According to reports, Hojatel Islam Val-Moslemin Mohammad Ibrahim Nekounam said, “The last phrase in the second addendum of Family Support Bill which says that a woman has a right to prevent her husband from getting a job that is against the interest of the family contradicts the holy sharia and sharia does not allow women to rule over men”…

It was stipulated in the second addendum that after court confirmation, the couple can prevent the wife from getting a job that is against the interest of the family or the prestige of the couple or the woman. [The addendum said that] a woman also has such a right unless it disrupts the livelihood of the family but this article was omitted from the Family Support Bill. (ISNA state-run News Agency)
