Actors who don’t comply with dress code banned from travel, says judiciary

GVF — The spokesman for the Iranian judiciary has announced that Iranian actors who do not fully comply with the dress code for women (hijab) will be barred from leaving the country.

According to the semi-official Mehr news agency, Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei said that “some” Iranian actors had already received travel bans for having taken part in ceremonies abroad.

Ejei claimed that while these actors had received invitations for taking part in awards ceremonies, they had fallen “prey” to individuals who sought to lure them into parties and to publish their pictures.

He said the artists “have gone to places they shouldn’t have.”
