Dervish rights activists, Saleh Moradi and Kasra Nouri reached on 39th day of hunger strike and their health condition is reported dire while are suffering with the more effects of a hunger strike.
According to the received news to Majzooban Noor, physical situation of two Gonabadi dervishes is deteriorating and they are now in critical condition but Adel Abad prison infirmary refuses to serum therapy and medical care to this prisoner of conscience.
It should be reminded that, on 15th of Bahman 1391(Feb 3, 2013) despite the poor physical conditions of two dervishes, they were forced by the security forces and prison authorities to sign a letter stating that they have good physical health and they do not need any medical treatment and health care!
According to reports, the families of jailed dervishes after visited them in Adel Abad prison during the last few days expressed grave concern over signs of deteriorating physical health of them including vision loss, kidney failure in addition to weakness, weight loss and dizziness.
The appearance of these symptoms while these two prisoners of conscience are being held for 18 months in Shiraz’s Adel Abad prison and also have been suffering from malnutrition and chronic diseases due to poor prison conditions, are warning signs of their dire health condition.
The Dervishes’s families have stated that continuing this such procedures, will causes irreparable physical damage to them.
It should be reminded that, these two Gonabadi dervishes who are behind bars for more than 18 months in Shiraz’s Adel Abad prison , lunched the hunger strike to protest illegal transfer of seven Gonabadi dervishes’s lawyers and Majzooban Noor website managers to solitary confinement of Evin prison on 27th of Dey 1391 ( Jan 15, 2013). Saleh Moradi and Kasra Nouri by expressing concern about dir health of all jailed Dervish lawyers especially Hamid Moradi and Mostafa Daneshjou, required prison officials to transfer back seven Gonabadi dervishes’s lawyers to the general ward of Evin Prison.
Saleh Moradi and Kasra Nouri are currently being held in prison, on charges of “Propaganda against the regime”, “Acting against national security”, “Deviant group (Majzooban Noor) membership” and “Interviews with foreign media, Radio Farda”, but they have not yet received a definitive sentence till now. It seems that, after 18 months, their case is under investigation in Shiraz’s Revolutionary Court.
We note in this regard that although they have been in detention more than the serving a period of time which would equate to their sentence, therefore now their detention is absolutely unlawful.
It should be noted that, on 3 Esfand 91(21 Feb 2013) users of social networking published some text and images of Dervishes, in support of two hunger-strikers that was reviewed by extensive international feedbacks.
