Saleh Moradi and Kasra Nouri, in the 82nd consecutive day of their hunger strike have emphasized that they will continue their hunger strike despite the prison authorities pressures to force them to break their strike and undermine their will.
According to Majzooban Noor reporter, Saleh Moradi and Kasra Nouri, imprisoned Gonabadi Dervishes in Shiraz’s Adel Abad prisonde who have launched a hunger strike to protest the illegal transfer of the seven Gonabadi dervishes to solitary confinement in Evin prison since 82 days ago, are not willing to withdraw their hunger strike until their demands are met.

As prison authorities neglected their demands, two Dervishes after 64 days of hunger strike on liquid diet, have started a dry hunger strike since Thursday first day of Iranian new year (March 21).
According to worried families of these Prisoners of Conscience their existing health conditions have been exacerbated due to their prolonged hunger strike and their health has deteriorated. Currently they are suffering with vision loss, kidney failure, bowel adhesion in addition to weakness, weight loss and dizziness and the appearance of these symptoms are warning signs of their dire health condition and indicate that they are facing life-threatening health complications!
Each of them have lost more than 35 kg and due to extreme weakness collapsed for several times. Under their eyes and fingernails have gone severely bruised and can not stand on their feet but they still insist on their demands and are not willing to break their strike. Dervish hunger strikers required prison officials to transfer back the seven dervishes to the general ward of Evin and called attention to their poor health status but unfortunately their simple request has not been answered yet.

Suffering frequent loss of consciousness and being close to death on their 7th day of dry hunger strike led to being force-fed by intravenous serum injections under order from the prison officials.
Despite their critical condition, they are still on dry hunger strike and until their legal demands are fulfilled they are going to continue the strike.

It should be reminded that, Seven Gonabadi dervishes’ lawyers and Majzooban Noor’s managers (Messrs. Hamid Reza Moradi Sarvestani, Amir Eslami, Mostafa Daneshjou, Farshid Yadollahi, Afshin Karampour, Omid Behroozi and Reza Entesari) because of refusing to participate in court due to its illegal process hearing, under order from judge Salavati, have been put in solitary confinement since 83 days ago and their hair and beard were shaved by prison agents forcibly with the aim of insulting and contempt then.
Hamid Reza Moradi webmaster of Majzooban Noor website who suffers from chronic heart illness and may require amputation of a foot because of blood circulation obstruction caused by torture and beatings and Mostafa Daneshjou who is suffering from severe respiratory disease and asthma as his lung capacity has diminished with 40 percent during his jail term and despite his severe pulmonary disease, has been kept in basement cell of Ward 209, according to the doctor should not stay in a closed area for a long period of time. These ill Dervishes were severely beaten by security forces in solitary confinement on 26 Dey 1391 (Jan 15, 2013).
Moradi reportedly “vomited blood due to severity of the blows.” and he was then stripped of his clothes and left in the yard in cold weather.
That is why Saleh Moradi and Kasra Nouri, imprisoned Gonabadi Dervishes in Shiraz’s Adel Abad prison have started a hunger strike over transfer back of seven Dervish lawyers to ward 350 and receiving medical treatment.

Saleh Moradi and Kasra Nouri are being held in prison for more than 19 months on charges of “Propaganda against the regime”, “Acting against national security”, “Deviant group (Majzooban Noor) membership” and “Interviews with foreign media, Radio Farda”, but they have not yet received a definitive sentence till now. It seems that, after 19 months, their case is under investigation in Shiraz’s Revolutionary Court.

We note in this regard that although they have been in detention more than the serving a period of time which would equate to their sentence, their detention is absolutely unlawful now.
