Iranian judiciary is recalling political prisoners on furlough back to person in the lead up to the presidential elections on June 14.

Massoud Bastani and Hossein Ronaghi were called back to Evin Prison on Saturday according to Kaleme opposition website.

Hossein Ronaghi was given leave for health complications involving his kidney and bladder. Ronaghi, a human rights activist, is sentenced to 15 years in prison for his online human rights activities.

Massoud Bastani, a journalist sentenced to six years in jail, was given leave in March after three and a half years in jail. He was recalled to Evin on Saturday May 18.

Mizan Khabar reported today that student activist Bahareh Hedayat, journalists Ahmad Zeiabadi and Bahman Ahmadi Amouyi were also recalled to Evin Prison.

Mizan website which is linked to Freedom Movement Party purports that since candidacy of moderate cleric Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani was announced last Saturday, pressure on political activists has increased.

Many activists and journalists were arrested after the 2009 presidential election, when allegations of vote fraud triggered widespread protests.
