Four Gonabadi Dervishes, residents of Kavar town in Fars province who were arrested by security forces near one month ago, yesterday were moved to the quarantine section of Adel Abad prison and currently are in solitary confinement in the basement of this prison.
According to Majzooban Noor, on 8 Khordad 1392 (May 29, 2013) four Gonabadi Dervishes, Sayed Ebrahim Bahrami, Mohammad Ali Sadeghi, Mohammad Ali Dehghan and Mohsen Esmaeeli, from Kavar town of Fars Province who were arrested on 10th Ordibehesht 1392 (April 30, 2013) and 16th Ordibehesht 1392 (May 6 2013) by security forces and plain-clothes in their homes and work place and were being held in Shiraz’s Adel Abad prison no. 2 “Nezam prison” at about one month, were transferred to solitary confinement in the basement of Adel Abad prison. The prison officials have kept them isolated, so this time each one of them is alone in the basement cells and during this period only once they could contact their families to inform them of the transfer.
Since their arrest (for over 3 weeks) these Dervishes were being held in the Shiraz’s intelligence office, known as “Pelak 100” ( No. 100) and have been denied family visits and after three weeks of frequent follow-up with families, they were given permission to meet for about 3 minutes with security guards presence. Now, due to continuing ban of visit and phone call, they are at risk of torture, beating and violence under interrogation.
It is notable that, the solitary confinement in the basement of Adel Abad prison is very inappropriate place and detainees who are held there, are in the worst health status and officers and investigators have inhumane attitude with torture that are absolutely against civil rights. The families of four jailed Dervishes have expressed deep concern over the status of them and are demanding the transfer back of imprisoned Dervishes to general Ward of prison and visit with them.
It should be reminded that, another imprisoned Dervish, Kasra Nouri who is currently being held in Adel Abad prison, during his first detention, spent two weeks in the quarantine section of the central prison in Shiraz and after his temporary release, arrested again. The reason of his re-arrest has been an interview with “Radio Farda” about the manner of violence clash of officers and investigators with torture in Shiraz’s intelligence office, known as “Pelak 100” ( No. 100) that are absolutely against civil rights.
