Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi must appear before Iranian authorities to provide “certain explanations,” Iranian media report.

ILNA states that Farhadi’s passport was briefly confiscated when he entered the Imam Khomeini Airport on Tuesday July 9.

ILNA writes: “It appears that Farhadi has to appear at a certain location indicated by airport officials to provide certain explanations.”

Farhadi is the winner of 2012 foreign film Oscar for his film Separation. His latest film The Past, filmed in France, was screened at the latest Cannes film festival and has recently hit cinemas in Iran.
