Iranian blogger Hossein Ronaghi Maleki, who was transferred to hospital on Tuesday afternoon by order of the Tehran Prosecutor, was then returned to Evin Prison by the Revolutionary Guards.
A friend of the family who asked to remain unidentified told the Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA): “Hossein Ronaghi was brought to hospital at 5 PM, but soon after, Revolutionary Guards officials arrived at the hospital and returned Hossein to prison while insulting his parents. When the parents emphasized that he was there under orders from the Tehran Prosecutor, they even insulted the prosecutor.”
Ronaghi Maleki, who has been sentenced to 15 years in jail, is suffering from acute kidney problems and has been on hunger strike to protest the prison authorities’ refusal to provide him with adequate medical care.
Ronaghi Maleki’s mother, Zoleikha Mousavi, is also on a hunger strike in solidarity with her son.
