Iran’s foreign minister has called on the media to refrain from “spreading rumours and erroneous translations of statements” during the nuclear negotiations in Geneva.

Mohammad Javad Zarif stressed that the nuclear negotiations are the result of a “national movement” and he called for a supportive media.

On his personal Facebook page, Zarif writes: “Tomorrow (Monday October 14) is the beginning of a difficult and relatively time-consuming path. I hope on Wednesday we can reach an agreement on the plan to reach a solution.”

He goes on to write that a majority of people of different political convictions have confidence in the policies of the administration and the foreign ministry, and they are prepared to give them a chance to advocate for the people’s interests and their rights with united domestic support.”

The new round of nuclear talks will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 15-16, in Geneva between Iran and the six world powers.
