Iranian President Hassan Rohani has told a gathering of parliamentary representatives of religious minorities that a Bill of Citizen Rights is now being prepared.

Rohani said: “We are in the process of preparing the bill with a number of top legal experts in the country, and as soon as it is ready, we will provide it to the media and scholars at universities in order to get their feedback and incorporate their ideas before it reaches final approval.”

Rohani stressed that his administration is committed to citizen rights and the preparation of the bill.

He insisted that religious minorities have a decisive role in the country, saying: “Since the beginning of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, in the eyes of both the constitution and the regime, the place and identity of all heavenly religions has been recognized, and all religions can officially observe all their ceremonies, worship and religious activities.”
