The Iranian Writers’ Association has issued an announcement in advance of next Wednesday’s Struggle Against Censorship.
The statement indicates that in the past year, many more writers and artists have stood up against censorship.
The statement celebrates the impact of this resistance, insisting it has led to the enlistment of government forces in the fight against censorship. It goes on to report on how the minister of guidance took a critical pose against the level of censorship in the Islamic Republic.
The association urges further resistance against censorship, saying that despite continued protests, the practice remains in force, stifling the voices of writers and artists and all forms of expression.
The Iranian Writers Association marks December 4 as the day of Struggle Against Censorship.
