The head of the Association of Iranian Journalist has announced that the association will soon reopen.

Badrolsadat Mofidi told the Payam-e No website that she met with the minister of culture and guidance last Saturday as well as the minister of labour, and both ministers have promised to facilitate the reopening of the association, also assuring her that the minister of intelligence is in favour of this development.

Mofidi said the main complaint against the association was made by the ministry of intelligence, and with the settlement of this complaint, the association will immediately resume its activities.

The Association of Iranian Journalist was founded in September of 1997. In July of 2009, in the midst of election protests, the infamous Tehran prosecutor Saeed Mortazavi shut it down.
