Iranian poets released on bail after outcry

Mehdi Mousavi and Fatemeh Ekhtesari, two Iranian poets who were arrested by Islamic Republic authorities, were released on bail on the afternoon of Tuesday January 14.

HRANA reports that the two poets were released from Evin Prison yesterday.

The two are banned from traveling abroad. Their arrest last month triggered an outpouring of support from the Iranian arts community as well as international organizations such a PEN International.
