Four patients died in Tonkabon in Mazandaran Province after heavy snowfall kept them from reaching a hospital in time.

Shargh Newspaper reports that three dialysis patients and one patient suffering from brain injury died due to delays in getting to the hospital from villages surrounding Tonkabon.

A Tonkabon physician reported that the surrounding roads remain blocked and further casualties could follow if conditions do not improve.

The western cities of Mazandaran have been under severe weather conditions, with heavy snowfall that in many places has led to power and water outages.
