Five Iranian border officials who work at the Sistan-Baluchistan border with Pakistan have been missing since Friday February 7.

The Fars News Agency reports that provincial border forces and Revolutionary Guards choppers have been dispatched to the area to set up a search mission.

According to Fars, some reports indicate that the missing officers may have been taken into Pakistan. Iranian border officials met with their Pakistani counterparts yesterday to follow up on the matter.

Last October, fourteen Iranian border officers were killed in an attack for which Sunni militant group, Jeysh-ol-adl, took responsibility.
