Iranian political activist Kazem Barjasteh was taken to Evin prison this week upon his return to Iran.

The Kaleme website reports that Barjasteh returned to Iran on Thursday February 13 and was arrested upon arrival in Tehran.

He reportedly was taken to judiciary and security offices and then transferred to section 350 of Evin Prison to serve out a five-year sentence.

Kazem Barjasteh was a member of opposition leader MirHosein Mousavi’s election campaign team and was arrested during the Ashura protests of December 2009.
