Recently Intelligence Bureau of southeastern town of Babak in Kerman province is frequently attempting to summon, interrogate and take Gonabadi Dervishes under inquisition.
According to reports obtained by Majzooban Noor, Intelligence Bureau of Shahre Babak also installed a camera (Closed circuit camera) in front of the place where Dervishes used to worship and pray. Security forces are trying to put more pressures on Dervishes.
Mr. Kazem Tahmasebi who is responsible for holding Dervish ceremonies in this city has been under heavy pressure as he was summoned by the security agencies several times in order to shut down worship-place of Gonabadi Dervishes.

Another Gonabadi Dervish, Mr. Amir Ali Labaf who was previously responsible for organizing Dervish ceremonies in Shahre Babak, spent 5 years in exile there and within the period was summoned repeatedly by the prosecutor with the aim of closing Dervish ceremonies. He recently completed his exile term and returned to his hometown but Intelligence Bureau of Kerman Province has intensified pressure and crackdown on Dervishes.
It is reminded that, Mr. Labaf in 1387 due to performing the congregational prayer (!) faced the wrath of religious fanatics and anti-Sufisms. Then, a group of Clergymen and Government authorities leveraged the Intelligence Bureau of the city of Qom and its courts to convict him! Labaf was convicted by a court in Iran’s clerical nerve centre of Qom after it ruled that his holding of prayers as a Dervish (Sufi) was “a case of spreading lies”.
In addition to the nine-month prison term, Labaf was sentenced to 74 lashes and 5 years of exile to the town of Babak.
