Yesterday afternoon, 1 Esfand 1392 (Feb 20, 2014) security forces entered the Ferdowsi printing office that located in the city of Ahvaz and arrested two employees of the publishing office and confiscated 500 copies of the printed calendar, posters and effigies of Sufi grand Masters.
It is worth mentioning that, the two men were released after 30 Gonabadi Dervishes gathered in front of the police station and demanded the immediate release of them but the seized property was not returned yet . The Dervishes warned that the evidence must be shown regarding legality of seizure of property. Otherwise, they will insistently continue to pursue their claims for returning the property.
As the “Day of Dervish” is approaching (Dervish Day as a symbol of unity and solidarity of Dervishes, which is commemorated on 3rd day of Esfand corresponding to 22nd February) pressure on Gonabadi dervishes in different parts of the country has increased. Including repeatedly summons of Gonabadi Dervishes by Intelligence Bureau of southeastern town of Babak in Kerman province and distribution of false declaration attributed to the Dervishes in the city Khorram-Abad.
