Rallies held by Dervishes overseas in front of Iranian embassies; Dervishes’s rally will be ongoing in front of Tehran Prosecutor’s office
Gonabadi Dervishes in European and American countries joined the dissidents. Sufis in Iran have stated that they will not leave the rally until their demands fulfilled.
According to a report by Kaleme, a number of Dervishes in Europe and America have issued an announcement in which they have declared that, in order to express solidarity with Gonabadi Dervishes in Iran, they will stage a rally in front of Iranian embassies in support of their imprisoned brothers’ hunger strike and will not leave till their voices are heard and their demands are fulfilled.
Announcing this news, Farhad Noori, one of the managers of Majzooban Noor website, told Kaleme:
“Following the widespread support of imprisoned Dervish hunger striker across the country and political and ideological prisoners’ families’ call for a rally in front of Prosecutor’s office in Tehran to stand up for the prisoners’ rights and demands, a large number of Dervishes in other countries have also joined in and supported the hunger strike and will stage a rally in front of Iranian embassies in Europe and America on Saturday, Esfand, the 17th (February, the 3rd) and will persevere till their demands for political prisoners’ freedom, especially Dervish lawyers, are met by judicial authorities”.
With regard to Dervishes’ rally in front of Tehran Prosecutor’s office , Farhad Noori added: “As also reflected in news, Dervishes over the country have voiced their support of the political and ideological prisoners’ families’ call and will have a peace rally against illegal arrest, trial, and punishment of imprisoned Dervishes and some other recent issues, such as imposing illegitimate restrictions on their medical care and treatment and exiling two prisoners to Rajayei-Shahr Prison. This rally will continue till their request for overturning the sentences passed on Dervish lawyers, returning the two exiled sufis, and removing all limitations on their medical treatment will be adequately fulfilled.
At the end, this Gonabadi Dervish hoped that “those responsible for establishing security in the current government of ‘reflection’ and hope’ and the police force will provide those rallying with security, through acting in a sensible manner and in line with the constitution and citizenship rights and respecting the nation’s fundamental freedoms. Obviously, staging such rallies has been recognized by Principle 27 of the Constitution as a citizenship right as it is a way to raise the state’s awareness of citizens’ legal and legitimate requests. It is hoped that our voice will be heard and listened to properly, and our imprisoned brothers will be released unconditionally soon”.
