Iranian dervishes imprisoned in Evin, Rejaishahr, Nezam Shiraz and Central Bandar Abbas Prisons continue to refuse food to protest the authorities’ failure to provide them with adequate medical treatment.

The Majzooban-e Noor website reports that the dervishes on hunger strike are refusing to go to visiting halls and since last week and have not met with any visitors.

They are calling for the return of their exiled peers Farshid Yadollahi and Reza Entesari and Saeed Madani back to Evin Prison. They are also asking for medical treatment for the sick dervishes in jail.

Thousands of dervishes have expressed solidarity with the prisoners, staging in a sit-in in front of the prosecutor’s office in Tehran and announcing that they too are going on hunger strike.
