Following protests against the presence of Saeed Jalili, a conservative member of the Expediency Council, at Amir Kabir University, at least nine students have been summoned by the university’s disciplinary committee.

The Kaleme website reports that a group of students protested Jalili’s presence at the university and began chanting slogans in support of opposition leaders MirHosein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi. The incident reportedly led to a physical altercation between protesters and Basij students.

According to Kaleme, the disciplinary committee has targeted protesters and supporters of Green Movement with threatening phone calls and summonses.

The program consisted of speeches by Saeed Jalili, a former nuclear negotiator, and Fereydoon Abbasi, the former head of Iran’s Atomic Agency.

The students reportedly chanted slogans in supports of Mousavi and Karroubi, who have been under house arrest since February 2011, and called for their release.
