Following clashes in Evin prison, Jailed Gonabadi Dervish lawyer, Omid Behroozi who had a vein ruptured, has been taken to prison infirmary and is chained to the bed there.
On Thursday 28 Farvardin 1393 ( April 17, 2014) around 100 security agents and riot police, accompanied by IRGC and Intelligence Ministry personnel, entered the Evin Prison, and its Section 350, where political prisoners are held.
The security agents used extreme violence when prisoners objected to the irregular search, with the police smashing TV sets, equipment and personal belongings in their cells, and beating dozens of detainees who were later placed in solidarity confinement at Section 240.
During Iranian guards and intelligence officials search of ward 350 of Evin prison, Omid Behroozi had a vein ruptured in his hand that were cut by shattered glass and was bleeding heavily.
According to reports by Majzooban Noor, after initial bandaging, Omid Behroozi was placed in solitary confinement in Security Section 240 regardless of his injuries. But after a few hours his blood pressure drops too low then he was again transferred to the prison infirmary with excessive bleeding and pain.
As he was suffering from severe pain, the doctors recommended immediate photography to diagnose his problem due to probability of the presence of a piece of glass in the wound which increases the probability of infection.

Currently Omid Behroozi along with other political prisoner, Esmail Barzegari who his ribs has been broken are being held in Evin prison infirmary and were handcuffed and blindfolded to the bed.

There is no news about the situation or physical condition of the wounded prisoners who are now being held in solitary including another jailed Gonabadi Dervish, Mostafa Abdi. Meanwhile, according to Kaleme and Jaras websites some medical supplies, such as bandages was transferred to Section 240 from Evin infirmary.
It is notable that the head of Iran’s Prison Organization Gholamhossein Esmaili denies that Evin Prison was the site of any recent violence or attacks. He has also said such rumors are merely being spread by “anti-Revolutionaries” and have no substance!
Ali Motahari, a conservative member of the Iranian parliament who has spoken out about the situation of prisoners in the past, said he was concerned about the reports and would raise the issue with the justice minister.
