Following Mr. Hadi Tabandeh’s hospitalization in the intensive care unit (ICU) of Mehr Hospital in Tehran, the Gonabadi Dervishes across the country have started to pray to restore his good health and also are going to meet for prayer in the following days.
As reported by Majzooban Noor, as rays of the same sun, Dervishes showed their solidarity in face of political and security-related crises as well as personal problems in this collective action.
Quoting Prophet Mohammad, peace be upon him, as saying “How can I go to bed full while my neighbor is awake out of hunger?”, the Dervishes believe that this saying is not just about food but about the significance of solidarity and bond among people in all unfavorable physical, emotional, political, and social situations. They have asserted that Dervishes are never separate from each other and “If one member is afflicted with pain, Other members uneasy will remain”. (Saadi Shirazi)
It is notable that, previously, a large number of Gonabadi Dervishes had staged a two-day rally in front of the Prosecutor general’s office in Tehran to demand the political and ideological prisoners’ rights and more recently cut or shaved their hair because the judicial and military force had cut their imprisoned brothers’ hair and mustaches by force. This is the social manifestation of their solidarity with the society and their brothers and sisters in faith.
