President Hassan Rouhani predicted on Monday that Iran’s nuclear talks with world powers will eventually reach a conclusion, although there are lots of difficulties in the path of talks. To reach an agreement is a win-win game which is in the interests of both sides, Rouhani said in a meeting with officials at the Ministry of Transport and Urban Development.
Iran and the 5+1 group (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany) are engaged in a process of talks aimed at reaching a final solution to a decade-old dispute over Tehran’s nuclear program.

No tangible progress was made in the latest round of talks that ended on Friday in Vienna, with time running out to clinch a deal by the agreed deadline of July 20. According to the Joint Plan of Action the deadline can be extended for another six months.

Rouhani added that Iran has not and is not after telling lies to the world.

Iran seeks peaceful nuclear technology and stands up for Iranian people’s right in this respect, he noted.

He went on to say that Iran wants to have this right by reaching an agreement in the talks which serves the interests of both sides.

It does not mean that Iranian people have fears of sanctions, he said, adding that the Iranian people would resist sanctions under any circumstances.

The government’s concern is safeguarding the interests of the people, the Islamic revolution and national security, he stated.

Rouhani expressed hope that the government would meet people’s demands and raise the country to a status it deserves.
