According to a report by Radio Zamaneh, prominent jailed reformist Mostafa Tajzadeh has been sentenced in absentia to another year in prison. Kaleme reports that Tajzadeh has been confronted with new charges of “propaganda against the regime by writing letters to Ayatollah Khamenei Leader of the Islamic Republic from inside prison.”
Tajazadeh, who had announced that he would only appear in an open and official court to face any charges, did not appear at the court that sentenced him to another year in prison.
Tajzadeh was arrested following the controversial 2009 presidential election in the wave of arrests of reformist figures and was sentenced to six years in jail for “assembly and collusion to disturb national security and propaganda against the regime.”
