After almost 3 months wait, yesterday morning on 24th of Khordad 1393(June, 14 2014) imprisoned Gonabadi Dervishes, Hamid-Reza Moradi and Mostafa Daneshjou were transferred to specialized treatment centers for following up medical care.
According to Majzooban Noor, the doctors have repeatedly stated about the lack of specialized cardiac and cardiology services in Shohada e Tajrish hospital and jailed Gonabadi dervishes in Evin’s ward 350, Hamid-Reza Moradi and Mostafa Daneshjou were waiting for permissions on transfer to Sina hospital and Tehran Heart Center for more than three months and during this period almost their necessary medical treatment and health care had been stopped which caused their illness symptoms to worsen.
The imprisoned administrator of Majzooban Noor news website, Hamid-Reza Moradi, in addition to serving a 10-and-a-half year penal term, has suffered a serious infection of the foot, which may require amputation, after torture by Iranian officials. He is also afflicted by illnesses including arteriosclerosis and cardiovascular diseases, as well as lumbar disc damage. He is now faced with serious risks that involved with his necessary surgery that is due to the lack of required medical treatment for him. He was supposed to have Vascular surgery due to artery blockage in his legs on Wednesday 29th Aban 1392 ( Nov 20 2013) which was postponed because of his undesirable heart condition.
Mostafa Daneshjou, jailed Dervish lawyers in ward 350 of Evin prison, who was handed a 7-and-a-half year prison sentence, is a pulmonary patient. He is recently suffering from cardiac arrhythmia due to the lack of attention to proper healthcare treatment while in custody. According to his doctors’ advice Mostafa Daneshjou has needed immediate coronary angiography but after three-month wait, he got prosecution agreement with his transfer to Tehran Heart Center.
It should be stated, these two imprisoned Gonabadi Dervishes along with another Jailed Dervish, Afshin Karampour had been remained in critical condition and in urgent need of specialized medical care for more than one year which led them facing with a serious and life threatening conditions because of trying to sabotage judiciary by some judicial authorities including judge Salavati. Denial of their adequate medical care also led to a massive hunger strike by Dervishes and the gathering protest in front of Tehran Prosecutor’s Office then.
