Journalist summoned to court to serve sentence

Iranian journalist Marzieh Rasouli says on her Twitter page that she has been summoned to serve out her sentence of imprisonment and fifty lashes. She adds that she will report to court on Tuesday in response to the summons.

Rasouli was arrested at her home in 2011 and released three months later on bail of 300 million toumans. She was charged with “propaganda against the regime” and “disrupting public order by taking part in gatherings.”

Rasouli, who specializes in covering art and culture, has worked with ISNA and the Shargh and Etemad dailies.
