Two Sunni activists who were arrested in Iran a month ago have still not been allowed to contact their families.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), 21-year old Mohammad Darabi, the son of the Friday prayer Imam for Rejaw in Kermanshah, northwestern Iran, was active in Sunni religious activities and involved in religious work.

He traveled with fellow Sunni activist Vahid Darabi to the majority Sunni city of Zahedan in order to meet with Sunni scholars, before the two were arrested by security forces about a month ago.

A source told HRANA, “These two citizens were arrested approximately a month ago by the Ministry of Intelligence, but officials have still not given them permission to contact their families.”

The circumstances of their arrest and the charges they face remain unclear at this stage.
