Reza Shahabi a Workers’ Rights activist who is on hunger strike since 41 days ago, transferred to Imam Khomeini Hospital. Government officials have not yet allowed his family to visit him.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Reza Shahabi was transferred on July 12th from the 12th Ward of Rajai shahr Prison and admitted at Imam Khomeini Hospital.
A well informed source who preferred to remain anonymous has told HRANA reporter, “prison guards who accompany Reza Shahabi have not yet permitted his wife and his children to visit him at the hospital. His family are planning to meet Tehran’s Public Prosecutor tomorrow to get the permission to visit Reza Shahabi”
This source also added “Doctors have already initiated treatments for Reza Shahabi but he decided to remain on hunger strike until he gets the permission to see his family”
Reza Shahabi Zakaria- a Workers’ Rights and political activist- was transferred on Sunday, June 1st, 2014 from the Ward 350 of Evin Prison to Rajaeeshahr Prison. He went on hunger strike on the same day in protest to this transfer.
