Security forces conducted a raid on the Sunni prisoners’ section of Rajai Shahr prison in Iran last week, confiscating religious books and overturning their property.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), more than 80 prison guards stormed Section 10, Ward 4 of the prison at 4pm last Monday. The section holds nearly 100 Sunni prisoners of conscience who are held separately from the rest of the prisoners.
According to reports, guards insulted the Sunni prisoners, overturned their property, and confiscated items including Sunni religious books.
In a previous raid on the Sunni prisoners in May this year, prison guards threw the Qur’an and Sunni religious books to the floor ‘under their feet’, and confiscated the prisoners’ property.
