The trail session of investigation of the protest of the late Vahid Banani’s family to the case, due to the absence of the judge at the hearing, was not held. previously, the judge had sentenced the murder to Quasi-Intentional Crime.
According to Majzooban Noor, a group of Gonabadi Dervishes of Fars Province who had sent a letter to the prosecutor of Kavar county, demanding the trail and punishment of the performers and facilitators of the young engineer, today again came together to attend the trail session of the case. However, this gathering led to the security atmosphere around the compound of the court and the mentioned place was surrounded by lots of security and police forces.
It was supposed that at the hearing session to the case of late Banani, the prosecutor of Kavar and the representative of the information organization of the city of Shiraz attend.
It should be mentioned that Gonabadi Dervishes in a letter to the prosecutor of Kavar had addressed; “in order to defend the blood of our spiritual brother, we diligently use and apply all legal capacities, and as much as possible we never let the sacred blood of the mentioned late be suppressed by the illegal decisions of outlaws”.
Late Banani was martyred in an incident which had been held in Kavar against Gonabadi Dervishes, which some religious extremists and Basiji forces (voluntary forces affiliated with government) gave slogans against Dervishes and created physical tensions as the result of the stimulation by two clergies.
The official expert committee report indicated that Mr. Banani had been murdered by a Gun-Colt, by the security forces at the scene.
The Kavar event was not only limited to death of Mr. Banani, but led to a fresh massive wave of arrests, detentions and long term imprisonments for the Gonabadi Dervishes and their lawyers. In this incident, seven lawyers and Dervishes rights activists who were striving on the case and trying to publicize the news related to this, were sentenced to sixty years in prison in total.
