Following the impeachment of Reza Farajidana from his position as Minister of Science and Technology, reports indicate that conservative factions now aim to summon the Minister of Culture and Guidance to Parliament for another impeachment process.

The Shargh daily reported on Thursday August 28 that critics of the Culture Minister have raised the issues of film censorship and women singing in concerts, and the minister is now charged with submitting a report to Parliament.

Ali Jannati has been the target of criticism in Parliament on several occasions, and his Norooz meeting with former president and top reformist figure Mohammad Khatami was an especially sore point for conservative factions.

Earlier, Jannati was also criticized for issuing permits for “concerts with vulgar singers acting contrary to Islamic values.” Jannati has also been given a symbolic yellow card by conservative MPs for expressing public regret over the banning of newspapers and other publications.

some reports indicate tha tthe minister of communications may also be targeted with impeachment over efforts to increase the speed of internet in the country.
