Former Iranian Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi has been convicted on a charge that carries a prison term and a fine, but details of the case have not been revealed.
Rahimi was a top aide to former President Mahmud Ahmadinejad, whose hard-line government has been accused by critics of massive corruption.
Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei, a high-ranking member of the judiciary, was quoted by state media on September 1 as saying he could not reveal details, as the conviction and sentence were not yet final.
Iranian media previously reported that Rahimi was on trial on corruption charges.
Lawmakers have accused him of playing a role in a major government embezzlement scheme.
He was questioned by judicial officials before being placed on bail in December 2013.
Ahmadinejad was president from 2005 to 2013.
