The mother of imprisoned Gonabadi Dervish lawyer in Evin prison, Farshid Yadollahi, has had a heart attack due to the stress caused by his son’s situation.
According to Majzooban Noor’s reporter,
Mrs. Parvin Nouri who her groom (Omid Behroozi), her son ( Farshid Yadollahi), and her grand son ( Kasra Nouri) are in prison at the same time with the charge of defending the rights of Nematollahi Gonabadi Dervishes, after being informed that his jailed son has gone on hunger strike suffered heart attack and transferred to Shiraz’ Namazi hospital.
The report adds that, Farshid Yadollahi has started hunger strike to protest harsh condition of Gonabadi Dervishes, mistreatment and denial of basic rights of prisoners of conscience and political prisoners.
A few months ago, Farshid Yadollahi along with another jailed Gonabadi Dervish, Reaza Entesari was serving his sentence in the Evin Prison. The two Dervishes were suddenly transferred from Evin Prison to Rajai-Shahr Prison, west of Tehran. The illegal transfer of them and the lack of medical treatment for imprisoned human rights lawyers, like him, along with other prisoners of conscience prompted a protest in early March. After a while he was illegally moved to the ward 7, the public offenses section of evin prison where he had been deprived of basic prisoner rights such as access to fresh air and use of the prison library and even leaving the hall.
The member of the Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute, Farshid Yadollahi has passed so far four years of seven years and half in jail while he was tried in absentia by Branch 15 of Tehran Revolutionary Court presided over by Judge Salavati. This Gonabadi Dervish lawyer has deprived himself of the right of visit like other Dervishes to visit his family, in protest against the illegal and inhumane treatment that prison officials have imposed on Dervishes.
