The imprisoned lawyers and Gonabadi Dervish rights activists sent a message expressing their condolences over the death of author, Professor Amir Naser Katouzian known in the country as ” the father of Iran’s science of law”.
Born in 1927, Professor Katouzian has 45 books in his career mostly used as university curriculum in teaching Law. Katouzian was one of those experts who provided the drafts of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Constitution, however he was also one of those who were removed from the universities after the Cultural Revolution of Iran in the early 1980s. Later, Katouzian regained his position at the University of Tehran and followed his academic activities.
According to Majzooban Noor correspondent, part of their message read:
To Allah we belong and to Him is our return
“Undoubtedly the social constraints on his freedom of action and job related to his freedom and independence, but his patience in the face of the injustice of the rulers and ignorants, instead, increased the glory and proud for him. With the utmost grief and sorrow, the pure spirit of such a prolific scientist, Professor Amir Naser Katouzian went to the topmost heaven
It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow to express our sincere condolences at this grievous loss to Iranian Community law, “real” human rights defenders, his colleagues and his honorable families”
