Islamic Republic security forces beat and arrested protesters at a peaceful gathering of Gonabadi Dervishes and the families of jailed Dervishes in front of the Tehran Prosecutor’s Office. According to reports by Majzooban Noor website, more than 430 men and women with their children were arrested at the event. Gonabadi Dervishes had announced that they planned to gather on Saturday morning (today 20 Sept) in front of the prosecutor’s office in protest against the being under oppression for years and also mistreatment of jailed Dervishes. More than 2,000 Gonabadi Dervishes from across the country registered their names voluntarily to take part in a campaign so-called “migration from Iran to Evin prison” and ready to be imprisoned national wide to demonstrate their unity and solidarity.
The mentioned Dervishes who had gone with hands tied, eyes closed, were arrested harshly and transported separately to diffrent police stations in Tehran.
Some of detained Dervishes have announced about their hunger strike.
