Failure of the server of Majzooban Noor website due to severe cyber-attacks, the arrest of Dervishes at the exit of cities before the rally, creation of a high security atmosphere around Valiasr Square and Ministry of Justice, and Dervishes’ collective prayers’ turning into a protest are the most important events related to Gonabadi Dervishes’ third protest rally.

As reported by Majzooban Noor, subsequent to the announcement of Gonabadi Dervishes’ joining in prayers in front of Ministry of Justice today noon (Sunday, Mehr, 6, September, 28), in addition to the failure of the server of this news agency’s website due to increased cyber-attacks, several Gonabadi Sufi Dervishes were arrested at the entrances of Tehran and inter-city police stations.

These Sufis, the number of which is not known yet, were arrested because they were coming to Tehran to join in prayers in front of Ministry of Justice. A high security atmosphere has also been reported to have prevailed around Valiasr Square and Ministry of Justice from morning. Plain clothes forces, special guard forces riding motorbikes, and many police vans have been deployed.

As reported by eyewitnesses, security guards do not let any passers-by to stay there and prevent people from gathering in any shape or form. Consequently, Gonabadi Dervishes, who closely follow Islamic rules, announced that, to respect Shariah, they would gather in front of Ministry of Justice without collectively saying prayers since the necessary conditions for prayers were not available.

These Dervishes demand serious attention to the conditions the nine lawyers and Sufi-rights activists imprisoned in Evin and Nezam-e Shiraz are suffering from and putting an end to the security-oriented approach to Dervishes.
