Mahdieh Golroo arrested in Tehran

Mahdieh Golroo, student activist, was arrested by security forces and was taken to an unknown place on 26th October, in the morning.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), in the morning of 26th October, Mahdieh Golroo was arrested by security forces at her home after inspecting and confiscating her personal belongings and was taken to an unknown location.

Some of her relatives told HRANA that she might have been arrested in connection with the 22nd October protest in response to the recent acid attacks.

Mahdieh Golroo, born in 2nd August 1985, is a student activist, women’s right activist, member of the Right to Education and former deputy secretary of Allameh Tabatabai University Association, also member of Mehdi Karroubi’s election campaign, and industrial economics student of Allameh Tabatabai University. She had previously spent a period of 2 years and four months imprisonment sentence because of her activities.
