Yesterday morning, two planclothes without legal warrant and by force detained, interrogated and beat Mr. Reza Ferdous Moghadam, Gonabadi Dervish living in Darreh Shahr County in Ilam Province, for around an hour.
According to Majzooban Noor, yesterday morning, on 6th Aban ( October 28, 2014) two undercover agents went to Dervishes’ places of worship in the city of Darreh Shahr County in Ilam Province and with no explanation take Mr. Reza Ferdous Moghadam violently to a private vehicle then transferred him to a building belong to IRGC , where the interrogator used electric shocker and physically beat him for a few hours with the purpose of intimidating local Dervishes. During the interrogation he also questioned why he had took part to recent gathering by Dervishes in Tehran. The mentioned Gonabadi Dervish, after resisted against this such harsh interrogation, was left in the street.
It has been also reported that, Messrs. Kazem Dehghan and Aman Cheraghi from Kavar county, have been summoned to the police and security agencies by phone for some explanations.
It is worth mentioning that recently Gonabadi Dervishes planned to gather in front of Tehran’s Prosecutor’s Office in solidarity with the imprisoned dervishes who were on hunger strike and demanded removal any security view toward Dervishes. But their peaceful protest turned violent by military and security forces. These Sufis have joined the “Migration from Iran to Evin Prison” campaign declaring that either the security-oriented approach to the Dervish community must stop or the Iranian state must put them behind bars too like their imprisoned brothers.
Although their peaceful gathering was violently crushed by security forces but authorities have promised the families of Dervish prisoners and others who were present in front of Tehran Prosecutor’s office, that their demands will be met.
Said that after the gathering of dervishes in front of the judicial center and Department of Justice in the form of migration campaign of dervishes to the Evin prison, a new wave of security pressures along with intimidation has been started; so that, in addition to the sensitivity to the group travels of dervishes to Tehran, frequent summons by telephone and SMS from different cities, interrogation; have been reported as well which seems to be aimed at intimidating and putting pressure on dervishes to prevent them continuing pursuit of their legitimate demands.
