Seasoned broadcast exec to lead Seda va Sima

Mohammad Sarafraz has been appointed the head of Iran’s national broadcasting service, Seda va Sima, replacing Ezzatollah Zarghami at the end of his 10-year tenure.

Sarafraz, the deputy head of foreign broadcasting for Seda va Sima, was appointed by Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei to a five-year term as leader of the organization, Iranian media report.

Sarafraz has been involved in the country’s national broadcasting organization since Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani took over its leadership and is credited with launching Press TV, Al-Alem, I-film and Hispan-TV networks.

Sarafraz has also been a member of the Supreme Council of Cyber Space by appointment of Ayatollah Khamenei.
