
Gonabadi Dervish rights activists, Salehedin Moradi was summoned by Kavar’s General Court to serve two years in exile and 30 lashes.
According to Majzooban Noor, Mr. Moradi has been sentenced in Kavar’s General Court on charges of “inciting public opinion” and “disturbing the public order”.
In addition to his case in Kavar’s General Court, he still has a case pending against him in the Revolutionary Court of Shiraz with charges of “Propaganda against the regime”, “acting against national security” and “Deviant group (Majzooban Noor) membership”.
Salehedin Moradi Sarvestani who has been temporarily released from Adel-Abad prison was detained in September 2011 during a wave of arrests of Gonabadi dervishes following the outbreak of conflicts against the dervishes in the Kavar County which was created by four clergymen which resulted in the arrest of many dervishes including the lawyers of dervishes and journalists and also the death of one young Dervish.
Mr. Salehedin Moradi during his imprisonment in Adel-Abad prison, along with another jailed Dervish, Kasra Nouri brought a lawsuit to the Clerical Special Court against the main causes of conflicts in Kavar county in order to revitalize a certain part of the violated rights of the Dervishes, and also through the transparency make the public aware who indeed were the real perpetrators behind the curtain. But concurrently with his complaint, Kavar’s General Court sentenced him to deportation and 30 lashes on charge of “disturbance of public order”.
