An opposition website reports that three members of the newly established Neday-e Iranian Party were arrested on December 8.

The Kaleme website reports that Mohsen Biglarbeigi, Javid Fakhrian and Sina Rahimpour were “arrested last night and transferred to an unknown location.”

Last week, Neday-e Iranian was given permission by the Ministry of Interior to begin political activity. The majority of its members come from the now-banned reformist parties Islamic Iran Participation Front and Mujahedin of the Islamic Revolution, which were outlawed following the 2009 election protests.

The party has announced that its aim is to avoid any form of extremist political action. However, some Iranian conservatives see it as a front for the activities of the two banned reformist parties.
