A number of Iranian MPs have called on the heads of Parliament and the judiciary to publish the list of representatives in the eighth Iranian Parliament who received bribes from Mohammadreza Rahimi, the former vice president who has now been convicted of corruption.
ILNA said 22 MPs have delivered a letter to Ali Larijani, the head of Parliament, calling for the list of 170 MPs that are alleged to have received money from Mohammadreza Rahimi.
The report also indicates that 21 MPs have written a letter to the head of the judiciary to make the same request.
Last week, a letter from Rahimi was published alleging he provided assistance to 170 MPs that amounted to 1.2 billion toumans. Immediately, 30 MPs called for the list to be publicized; however, the request was withdrawn shortly afterwards.
It was said that the MPs had thought that the allegations were against members of the ninth (current) Parliament and not the previous one.
However, now a number of the same MPs are calling for the publication of the list in order to clarify the issue for the public.
