Salehedin Moradi, who is an activist advocating Gonabadi Derivshes’ rights, was arrested on the pretext of carrying out the exile sentence issued by Kavar court. His wife told Majooban Noor: “During these 20 days my husband was interrogated in the detention center of Shiraz Intelligence Department no. 100”.
Regarding how he was arrested, she stated: “Unfortunately most of the responses to our enquiries with regard to his arrest are false and misleading. Upon arrest, they said they had come to carry out the exile sentence issued by Kavar court. However, afterward we discovered that they had filed another case and had leveled new accusations against him. Although the arrest should be over now, there is no news of his release. Kavar’s prosecutor office says that we should follow this up through Shiraz Revolution Court which tells us this has nothing to do with them.
She added: “My husband’s lawyers and I have repeatedly gone to Kavar court, No. 100, and Shiraz Revolution Court but unfortunately have not received any proper responses. First Kavar’s prosecutor office announced that the arrest will take no longer than 10 days, but after 10 days they said that it had been extended for a week. This period is over too, but Saleh is still arrested and interrogated in No. 100”.
In response to “What are Mr. Moradi’s new charges?”, Mrs. Moradi said: “They have told me instigating kavar dervishes. This is despite the fact that after the exiles of Kavar dervishes were issued, Kavar was experiencing a chaotic atmosphere. During this period, Saleh encouraged everyone to remain calm, respect law, and correspond with officials. He had even visited the county council in the morning before his arrest to alarm the officials about the possible consequences of such mistakes, that is, the shooting of a dervish’s car, but unfortunately he had not been treated appropriately.
At the end, the wife of this prisoner of conscience told Majzooban Noor about the cases filed about Salehedin Moradi: “Kavar General Court has sentenced him with 2 years of exile and 30 strokes, which has been confirmed. Another case has been filed in Shiraz Revolution Court in which he has been sentenced with two years of imprisonment without parole and two years of exile. The verdict of this case has been transferred to the Court of Appeals and has not been finalized yet. There is also a new lawsuit but no institutions have responded to our enquires regarding its reasons and content.”
