Gonabadi Dervish resident of the city of Golpayegan, Abbas Salehian was sentenced to 74 lashes by Branch 101 of Golpayegan penal court on charges of “committing a forbidden act by promoting the Gonabadi Sufi order faith”.
According to a report by Majzooban Noor, Mr. Abbas Salehian, who is responsible for holding Dervish ceremonies in the city, has been convicted of this crime while he did not have the right to an attorney.
It should be noted that, Abbas Salehian despite not being a clergyman, has been already tried in the Special Clerical Court and sentenced to six months jail. After referring the case to the Branch 101 of Golpayegan penal court, his unfair sentence was re-issued according to the ruling by the Special Clerical Court without the presence of the accused and his defendant’s lawyer.

This file cases against the mentioned Gonabadi Dervish was made in court after he was summoned by the intelligence office of the city.
