Hospitals see patient influx from Sistan-Baluchistan dust storms

More than a thousand people have ended up in hospital as a result of the dust storms overwhelming major cities in Sistan-Baluchistan Province.
Provincial officials report 1,160 people needed hospital services due to the dust storms.

The report ads that 732 people were affected by respiratory problems, 190 by cardiac complications, 223 had eye problems and 14 people were injured in road accidents caused by severe weather conditions.

On Monday June 15, reports indicated that dust storms which began last week in Sistan-Baluchistan have persisted and currently affect 19 cities.

ISNA reports that winds reached 115 km/h in northern cities of the province last week, raising dust particle concentration to 25 times the acceptable level.
