A new wave of sandstorms has overwhelmed Kermanshah Province, reducing air quality that’s critically dangerous to public health.

IRNA reported on Thursday June 25 that the concentration of dust particles is four times the acceptable level.

Saeed Dezfooli, a spokesman for the Kermanshah Department of the Environment, said the concentration of dust particles reached a peak within eight hours. He predicted that the concentration of the particles would begin falling by Thursday night.

Kermanshah had seven days of heavy dust particles in March.

Khuzestan Province in western Iran has also been seriously affected by the dust storms that restrict breathing and severely reduce visibility.
