On Wednesday, investigations and examinations regarding the charges laid against six Gonabadi Dervishes commenced in Dezful’s County court.
According to Majzooban Noor reporter, Gholamreza Abarkar, Masood Majdi Nasab, Hassan Diapour, Mohammad Javad Babaii, Ghassem Mangari and Mohammad Maleki are the six Dervishes under investigation and charged for various allegations such as disturbance of peace, damaging public property, sacrilege, and assaulting senior officers in Branch One of Dezful’s County Court Investigation Office.
During the Holy Defense Exhibition in Dezful and in a number of Theology students’ presentations, movies and photos direct insults were delivered to dervishes’ beliefs. Consequently, a few dervishes gathered in the exhibition and requested its closure which ended in violence when the police arrived. A number of dervishes were arrested and hours later they were released when other dervishes and their families gathered in front of the town’s police headquarters.
