Security Forces Clash with Gonabadi Dervishes in Kovar City

According to Majzooban Noor, on April 27 security forces of Kovar city surrounded the house of Mr. Kazem Dehghan, one of the Gonabadi dervishes (whose house is a place for Dervish Ceremonies). this action led to shooting by the security forces and dervishes of the region gathered in the area and inhibited the spread of violence by the security forces and cause them to leave.

This is not the first violent action by the security forces against Gonabadi dervishes in Kovar; it’s been carried out during the current year several times,on September 2011, when Gonabadi dervishes of Kovar were attacked by the self-willed forces and fundamentalists, Mr. Dehghan had been sentenced to lifelong exile, and now along with six other dervishes he is forced into exile for nearly two years.

According to the Revolutionary Court of Shiraz verdicts, which has been frequently contested by a number of dervishes, Mohammad Ali Shamshirzan, Kazem Dehghan, and Hamid Arayesh have been sentenced to lifelong exile to Bandar Abbas; and also Mohsen Esmaili, Mohammad Ali Dehghan, Mohammad Ali Sadeghi, and Ebrahim Bahrami to seven years for exile to cities of Dezful, Zabul, Maragheh and Sardasht.
