Council adopts restrictive measures following the foiled plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to the US
Following the foiled plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to the US, the Council today subjected five persons to EU restrictive measures aimed at combating terrorism.
This means that their financial assets in the EU will be frozen and that no funds may be made available to them. Member states will afford each other the widest possible assistance with respect to enquiries related to these individuals.
The Council today also removed one person from the list of those targeted by the restrictive measures as this was no longer justified.
Today’s decision, together with the details about the individuals concerned, will be published in the EU Official Journal of 22 October.
